Waste heat is a problem common to high temperature processing industries as a significantly underused resource, often due to challenges in the economic heat valorisation. Smartrec, a European Commission H2020 funded (Grant number 723838) project, aims to address these challenges by providing a standardised and modularised heat recovery solution integrated with thermal energy storage and a knowledge based software tool.
In order to gain further insights into the efficiency of current practices of waste heat recovery and reuse of waste heat by industries, Smartrec is conducting a research on ‘Industrial Waste Heat Capture’. The information collected by this survey will help us understand the market needs and the potential impact of Smartrec on the community.
